Description
Superconducting Magnetic Levitation Demonstration Component: Single‑Domain Polycrystalline Bulk.
Superconductor Type: Yttrium‑Barium‑Copper‑Oxide (YBCO) bulk material. Manufacturing Process: Melt‑growth, multi‑seed nucleation. Physical Specs: Black round disc, approx. 17 mm diameter, 4‑5 mm thickness. Application: For science popularization demonstration only. Custom‑order required for scientific research purposes.
Operation Instructions
Immerse the bulk in liquid nitrogen to cool down into superconducting state. It will levitate above N52 high‑strength magnets due to flux pinning effect and can also be suspended underneath magnets.
Superconducting state lasts roughly 30 seconds. Insulation wrapping can greatly extend superconducting duration. Insulation materials need to be prepared by end‑user.
Important Safety Notes
- This superconductor reacts with moisture, water and acid. Exposure above 600 °C will permanently destroy superconducting performance.
- Contains toxic heavy‑metal elements including barium, copper and yttrium. Store securely. Use dedicated separate tools for demonstration. Never reuse experimental bowls or utensils for food. Wash hands thoroughly with soap after handling. Clean work surfaces and tools. Seek immediate medical help if swallowed.
- Frost will form on surface after each low‑temperature demonstration. Wipe frost completely. Store sealed away from light only after full drying. Keep away from food and children.
